Description:

Humanized monoclonal antibody LY2624587 targeting C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4, CXCR4, was shown to block the binding of CXCL12 to CXCR4 thereby inhibiting downstream signaling pathways (ERK and AKT pathways) down-regulate cell surface CXCR4 and induce hematological tumor cell death. CXCR4 is overexpressed in more than 23 types of human cancers and contributes to tumor growth, angiogenesis, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance. LY2624587 has no agonist activity, but does have clinical potential as a single agent or in combination with other drugs for the treatment of hematological tumors.
