Recombinant Rat MIP-2/ CXCL2 is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 73 amino acids.

Background: Rat MIP-2/ CXCL2 is expressed by cytokine stimulated rat alveolar macrophages and fibroblasts. CXCL2 is a member of the alpha (CXC) subfamily of chemokines. CXCL2 is known to be a potent chemotactic factor for rat neutrophils in vitro and in vivo. It is involved in the pulmonary inflammatory response, is expressed at sites of inflammation and may suppress hematopoietic progenitor cell proliferation.

Reconstitution:

Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Add sterile distilled water or aqueous buffer containing 0.1% BSA to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.

Storage/Stability:

Store lyophilized product at -20°C for long term storage. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to one week at 2-8°C. For maximal stability, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20°C to -80°C.
