Description:

HRASLS3 is a tumor suppressor that takes part in dependent cell death. HRASLS3 is part of the class II tumor suppressor gene family and is involved in the regulation of differentiation and survival. HRASLS3 protein is expressed in a number of human tumors including ovarian carcinomas, lung carcinomas. Acts as a host factor for picornaviruses: required during early infection to promote viral genome release into the cytoplasm. May act as a cellular sensor of membrane damage at sites of virus entry, which relocalizes to sites of membrane rupture upon virus infection.
