Description:

The monoclonal antibody recognizes human CD33 or Siglec-3 (sialic acid binding Ig-like lectin 3) is expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, dendritic cells, mast cells, and myeloid progenitors to the exclusion of hematopoietic stem cells, lymphocytes, and platelets. It functions to assist sialic acid-dependent cell adhesion. CD33 is useful for distinguishing myelogenous leukemia cells from lymphoid or erythroid leukemias.
