Description:

In Alzheimer disease, the neuronal cytoskeleton in the brain is progressively disrupted and replaced by tangles of paired helical filaments (PHF) and straight filaments, mainly composed of hyperphosphorylated forms of TAU (PHF-TAU or AD P-TAU). Phospho-tau CP13 is a monoclonal antibody that recognizes phosphorylated tau proteins in structures like neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) in brains of people with Alzheimer's disease and other tauopathies. It's used to assess the progression of tau pathology and to study potential treatments.
